Notes On A Monday Night Scorecard: Washington at Fog City

Notes On A Monday Night Scorecard: Washington at Fog City

1—Keena Turner played 11 seasons, 153 regular-season games, 18 postseason games, and won 4 Super Bowls. He retired in 1990, but it took 36 years for the 49ers Hall of Fame to officially induct him?

That makes about as much sense as having somebody fly across the Atlantic with a blood clot(s)…

2—Watching that first 49ers drive and subsequent touchdown was like Donna Brazile giving a presidential candidate the questions in advance of a debate.

3—After the ball went off Washington WR Stefon Diggs hands in the first quarter, I heard Sid Gillman from the grave say, “Get him out of there because he has no hands.”
P.S. I know Diggs has had a great career, but when you get a chance to drop in Sid Gillman, you drop in Sid Gillman.

4—Funny how the officials missed 49ers safety Malik Mustapha’s forceable blow to Diggs’ head…Oops!

5—Terry McLaurin leaves with knee injury…The dude should’ve left DC four years ago.

6—Did Jayden Daniels fail Remedial Football 101?

7—Do the officials seem to be doing everything they can to make sure Washington has no chance in this game?

8—Mike Evans leaves with an Achilles injury…

9—How easy it would be for the Washington TaxSkins to remove that “W” from their helmet and return Chief Two Guns White Calf’s image to the burgundy….

10—Last Add Jayden Daniels: He smiles too much.

11—Speaking of late hits…the officials conveniently picked up the flag on Fred Warner’s helmet-to-helmet blast of TaxSkins TE Chigoziem Okonkwo…Oops!

12—Real Last Add Jayden Daniels—The dude has got so much talent. If he can hold on to those gifts long enough for his brain to catch up…he could be great.

13—A year ago, Rachaad White seemed like he was on his way out of the league.

14—As Fred Warner gets away with another helmet-to-helmet hit…Is it just me, or does it seem like the 49ers defense takes a lot of cheap shots?

But to keep it fair, the officials did call a facemask on Washington lineman Chris Paul—that wiped out a game-tying touchdown.

15—The last pass by Daniels to Treylon Burks…at the pylon…would have been a touchdown in Super Bowl 12 (see Butch Johnson).

16—Do Fog City fans get a little bit nervous with two-possession leads in the fourth quarter with Kyle Shanahan wearing a headset on the sidelines?
It was a 23-3 lead…with the irony of the Washington HC being Dan Quinn.
