Kick it!
News broke this afternoon that legendary Los Angeles Rams running back Lawrence McCutcheon, 76, has passed away from Parkinson’s.
This is sad news…Sir Lawrence of Los Angeles was my first great Rams RB—I never saw Scooter Bass or Willie Ellison play…But McCutcheon I did.
A great back who didn’t get his due because of the other great backs of the era…and because the Rams didn’t win a Super Bowl.

I like the action!
Nate Landman is out, Puka Nacua is questionable, and the season is on the line…As Gus Sands would say, “I like the action!”
Go Rams! Because when you ain’t got nothing, you got nothing to lose… You’re invisible now, you’ve got no secrets to conceal…
Let it rip…
Rams 28, Raiders 23.
Where were the questions, thoughts, wonderings about Chicago Bears HC Ben Johnson and his decisions last night? I watched, listened, searched the media, and saw nothing.
He calls the cute run play with Joe Thuney that fails and leads to a flag…calls a pass play late in the game that leads to a sack…and then asks Cairo Santos to kick a career-long 58-yarder…that if missed…gives the ball to Drake Maye and the Patriots at midfield with a chance to win the game…
Today it was like none of those things happened…
…And before I put the Bears in SoFi for the Super Bowl in February, I need to see a better defense.
The World Series opens tonight…
The pellet with the poison is the Ray from the Bay,
The team from Wisconsin is the Brew that is True!
#131—May the San Francisco Giants rot and lie stinking in the earth…
I don’t understand why any NBA team is still giving James Harden significant minutes late in games…unless they are a bad team. Oh, hello Cleveland!
Last Add Harden: He has one job, for 18 seasons—get in shape…and he’s never in shape.
Speaking of Thursday Night Football—are the Marxist-Race hustlers really trying to flex Kirk Herbstreit’s reference to Caleb Williams as a ‘bucking bronco’ into a racial attack/slur?
Yes, I said Marxist…because there must always be a victim and there must always be a villain…And when you don’t have an obvious villain, then go out and create one.
A ticket for the Knicks-Celtics game tonight in Boston will run you $228… of course, your seat will be Providence, Rhode Island… but you’ll be at the game—kind of.
Longtime LSU coach Dale Brown, who Dick Vitale called “The Preacher Man,” has died at 90. LSU basketball, always at the forefront during Brown’s time, hasn’t been quite the same since.
On this day in 1978: “It might be a good idea to put dresses on all of them.”—HOF Pittsburgh Steeler middle linebacker Jack Lambert, asked by Howard Cosell about rule changes to protect the quarterback.
The Dude abides…
