Be honest: some of us have started a fantasy player on his bye week. A second set of eyes would have caught that.
Life works the same way. Pride whispers “I’ve got this,” and we skip the one move that would save us: asking someone wiser.
A lot of guys treat asking for advice like fumbling at the goal line. It’s the opposite. Knowing where you’re weak and inviting someone to cover it takes real strength.
So find your people. The older guy who’s been through it. The friend who tells you the truth.
But start with the Lord, because He never has a bye week and always picks up the phone.
Lord, keep us on target. Amen.
