Kick it!

I think I heard Joe Buck say, “Used to be so natural, to talk about forever.”

Aikman: “But used-to-bes don’t count anymore; they just lay on the floor until we sweep them away…And you don’t bring me flowers anymore.”

The Seattle Seahawks have a lot of holes; they are vulnerable, and this morning #1 fan Colin Cowherd was already defending the interceptions Sam Darnold will throw tonight.

“He’s got no running game…”

Seahawks have holes, but the Denver Broncos won’t be able to exploit them—So I’m forced to go with Emerald City tonight at Mile High.

A lot of Dodgers fans are saying—in light of last night’s loss to the Brewers and now being down 3-0 in the NLCS—that they understand, it’s been a great run, are very appreciative, and have made their peace with what’s happening.

I’ll argue that these folks aren’t really fans. Only a bandwagoner can slip off a bandwagon so easily… (Believe me, I know.) I’d respect them more if they were raging, calling for a scalp. By the way, whatever happened to #FireDaveRoberts?

San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama came out in support of the rioters/protesters in Paris…which made me think he’s got most of his money parked someplace other than France.

Keagen Trost, the Rams’ third-round pick out of Missouri, has been designated to return from injured reserve. Trost injured his hamstring in Week One of the preseason.

The Rams’ initial injury report heading into Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals is relatively clean.

Last Add Broncos: With safety Talanoa Hufanga out this week, Denver has elevated former Rams/Bills safety Taylor Rapp from the practice squad.
I’m feeling better about taking Seattle already.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is out this week with a “superficial blood clot.” It’s not my lane, but it’s hard to call any blood clot superficial.

It will be interesting to see how Tanner McKee performs in his place. Unproven in the NFL, McKee has shown in college he’s more of a natural passer than Hurts.

Does McKee have Hurts’ gifts of legs and intangibles—No. But if he breathes life into Philly’s struggling offense (that wouldn’t even have to be points, just a handful of third-down conversions) against the Carolina Panthers, I’ll be curious what direction the city of brotherly love goes.

Note: The Panthers are without their starting corners.

Is it just me or does it feel like the clock is ticking for Bronny?

Last Add Aikman-Buck Breakup: It’s easier to find a color guy than it is a play-by-play guy. Why would ESPN give Aikman a mega deal when they can plug in Pat McAfee?

Honestly, I never thought Aikman was that special as a commentator. Right now it’s Tom Brady…and when Tony Romo was in his prime, he might have been the best there ever was.

At Chavez Ravine tonight, Miguel Rojas could be dressing out for the last time in his career… And Kiki Hernandez’s time could be up, too…I wonder if he gives a blank?

***#127—May the San Francisco Giants rot and lie stinking in the earth…
