Kick it!
Note to ESPN/NFL Network: No more Jason Kelce in the broadcast booth. Behind a studio desk, fine. Park him next to Rich Eisen, but in the booth he makes me long for the greatness of the Simms family.
Right off the top: Three different people in my congregation on Sunday claimed to be the janitor the Dallas Cowboys fired after losing to Tampa Bay on Thursday Night.
Speaking of greatness, after seeing the rookie kickers’ greatness in Green Bay and New York… I’m guessing Rams fans feel a little better about Harrison Mevis.
The Seattle Seahawks have holes and an ordinary offensive line that got shown up by a not-so-great San Francisco 49ers defensive front.
Fortunately, there was a game earlier in the District of Columbia, or the stretch play at the end of the first half that resulted in a Seahawks fumble and a 49ers recovery for a touchdown would have been the dumbest thing I’ve seen.
Seattle at its own four, and running the ball is the right call, knowing Fog City has three timeouts. But to call a stretch play that hands the ball off in your own end zone should be a fireable offense.
Call me crazy, but if I have a cornerback like Devon Witherspoon making 31-Rocks (counting bonuses) this season…he would be covering Mike Evans, Frisco’s number one receiver, the second he comes out of the locker room.
If that doesn’t fit the system…then my system is stupid, and I actually believe I beat a great New England team in last year’s Super Bowl.

The funniest moment this NFL season.
A lot of touchdowns, a lot of great plays yesterday, a lot of moments…but Evans checking Trevon Diggs’ jersey vapor-locked my heart in laughter.
Head coaches taking responsibility for failures is so jejune these days. The “maning up” is played and carries little to no meaning.
The handoff in the end zone in Seattle—yes, someone on the staff should be forced to spend a night in the box for that call.
It’s ridiculous that Philadelphia’s Nick Sirianni has to be burned down because his team can’t make a tackle. The fact that his team even made it a game is a credit to him.
And I’ll say this about the TaxSkins HC, Dan Quinn: the players themselves said they knew they had no timeouts. They knew!
The coaches aren’t on the field. The disaster that led to the clock running out and the Giants-TaxSkins game ending in a tie…is on one person.
The coaches can say it’s their fault. The team as a whole can say it’s their fault. But on the field, in that moment, it is TaxSkins QB Jayden Daniels’ fault.
Last Add New York-Washington: It’s such a sports tragedy that the TaxSkins are no longer the Redskins…and a double sports tragedy that NFL games are played indoors…The grass and the color clash between these NFL blue-bloods was a cool watch.
I took the Chicago Bears in Green Bay because I thought Mike Ditka’s spirit would inspire them…Instead, they looked and played like a bunch of Juice Box Boys.
Last Add Green Bay: The last time I saw a quarterback torch a secondary deep the way Jordan Love did to the Bears yesterday was when John Hadl and Harold Jackson lit up the Dallas secondary at the Coliseum back in ’73.
At one point, what Love was doing did require an “Otter, this is ridiculous!” exclamation.
The Brewers, Rays & Cleveland Baseball Team…are the biggest argument against the MLB’s desire for a salary cap…So I expect a really egregious call or two, or three, to go in the Dodgers’ favor today and this coming week.
Brewers-Rays in the World Series is only slightly more interesting to the American public than the WNBA Finals featuring the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries….Okay, it’s a lot more interesting than the Dream-Valkyries series. Although I do believe 3,500 folks who come to see the Dream in Atlanta would disagree.
The Baltimore Ravens taking the Atlanta Falcons heart last night.
Last Add London: Tell me Jacksonville’s 17-16 win over Philadelphia in London was not just absolute awesomeness… backup longsnapper, nothing going right, everything looking like it was over…It was great.
Jacksonville punter/holder Logan Cooke should get a raise. Talk about manos de pegamento!
…#125—May the San Francisco Giants rot and lie stinking in the earth…
The Dude abides…
