Outsiders Sports’ NFL Picks: Week Five

(Outsiders Sports’ picks in BOLD)

Thursday, October 1st

Buccaneers (1-4) at Cowboys (2-3): Tampa, 24-16…I actually took the Cowboys at home…Reason number 1,001 on why I haven’t a clue about gambling…

Sunday, October 4th

Jaguars (3-1) at Eagles (2-2): Jags catch Philly at just the right time. Merry Christmas, Mr. Trevor Lawrence!

Bears (3-1) at Packers (2-2): The Monsters of the Midway are doing it for Ditka.

Bengals (2-2) at Dolphins (0-4): Don’t the Dolphins seem due?

Raiders (3-1) at Patriots (2-2): Taking New England at home in honor of Millen Vs. Sullivan SuperFight 1985

Vikings (4-0) at Saints (1-3): Thinking of it with a ‘70s mindset, the enemy of my enemy is still my enemy…and while love keeps no records of wrongs…football does…I’m taking NOLA.

Browns (3-1) at Jets (1-3): An uncommon saying, “The Browns have a quarterback.”

Colts (2-2) at Steelers (2-2): Taking Pittsburgh at home in the “Roy Jefferson Bowl”…and it will be the last time if they lose.

Texans (0-4) at Titans (0-4): If Houston loses the “Love Ya Blue Bowl” somebody should be fired.

Giants (3-1) at TaxSkins (1-3)—G-Men are winning uglier than the ’83 White Sox…

Broncos (2-2) at Chargers (0-4): The Bolts could win this game, but I’m of the Bolt Business…The Spanos Curse has won.

Lions (2-2) at Cardinals (1-3): I’m pro-Detroit, but this Lions defense couldn’t stop Jeff Fisher’s Rams…Cards can score. (BTW: What we brought up a month ago about trading Marvin Harrison Jr. looks like it is about to happen…You’re welcome, you got that without a Patreon or a paywall.)

49ers (4-0) at Seahawks (3-1): I was going to take Fog City because the Seahawks have holes, but they are the Super Bowl champs.

Sunday Night, October 11th

Ravens (3-1) at Falcons (2-2): The Poes are jelly-legged, and the Falcons have a chance to make a big statement.

Monday Night, October 12th

Bills (3-1) at Rams (2-2): Of course, we’re taking the Rams…Bills secondary is banged up…and the Buffalo offense lacks depth…

Bye:

Panthers (2-2)

Chiefs (4-0)
