Kick it!

Note to Lakers Fans: Enjoy the season, enjoy the product, but after seeing Oklahoma City and San Antonio last night, spare yourselves the anxiety of thinking you’ll compete for a championship.

Because you’re not.

It’s too bad LeBron James didn’t want to stay with the Lakers. He looked good as a no-pressure-on-me point-forward glue guy last night.

I don’t think the Los Angeles Rams season is over…but if they lose to the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday, I will. I believe it will be over because the hole will be too deep to climb out of without a ten-game winning streak.

Because of this… I’d like to see them hold off on dealing for another receiver. If they get a win and seem to be getting back on track—of course, make a deal!

But if they fall in Sin City, it’s sayonara, and they should just let it ride.

One name being floated is Jacksonville WR Brian Thomas Jr. (a perennial)…Since the Jags would soak the Rams in this deal, I’m more interested in the Colts’ Josh Downs.

The New York Giants will start J.J. McCarthy this Sunday against the Houston Texans…I would have gone one more week with Jameis Winston to preserve the illusion.

What happened to the good old days when you could fight with a teammate, insult his mom, and be all-good less than a minute later?

I’m sure the security in Paris will be excellent for the Pittsburgh Steelers & New Orleans Saints this week. Actually, I think it will be beyond excellent, because if anything were to happen (or even come close), it would be the end of Roger Goodell.

I also fully expect to see video of the French people enjoying the scenery, cafes, and restaurants that haven’t been burned to the ground.

Uncle Stan Kroenke’s first big decision for the Los Angeles Angels is coming. He and the club have declined manager Kurt Suzuki’s option for next season.

With the pending work stoppage, Kroenke & Sons will have plenty of time to carefully put their Halo plans in motion.

This is the most interesting the Angels have been since Jerry Narron batted .220 with 5 home runs in 1985.

While the Brew is True…they have a problem.

In 2015, the Milwaukee Brewers sold 1,000 personalized brass “Timeless Tickets” for $1,000 each—redeemable for any future home game (including a hypothetical World Series).

Hundreds of holders are cashing them in for Games 1-2, but many received poorer seats than expected amid high demand. The team admitted a logistics error, is letting holders keep their World Series tickets, and will let them keep the voucher for a future game.

Secondary-market tickets are surging well above $3,000.

***#129—May the San Francisco Giants rot and lie stinking in the earth…

Has anyone else been running into a new type of person? I’ve never seen these people in such large numbers, and when I did meet them before, they were usually very quiet.

They call themselves: UCLA Football Fans.

Speaking of the Colts…

Name to Remember: Catherine Hickman (Cleveland Browns assistant general manager and vice president of football operations) is the most frequently mentioned potential first modern-era female NFL GM.

The Dude abides…
